About Me: Waushara County Deputy Register of Deeds Barbara Struzynski has been named to the top post there, succeeding Gary Schindler, who retired. Struzynski will assume the new job February 5 and will serve the balance of a term ending January 5, 2009. She has been in the Register of Deeds Office for 21 years and is also the Town of Dakota clerk. Barb has been a life long resident of Waushara County. She is involved in 4-H, Historical Society & St Joseph's Catholic Church community meals. Barb and her husband Tom have three sons, Paul, Mike and Dan. They enjoy camping, crafts, Cowboy action shooting and doing things with their 3 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.
About the Office: In Waushara County, the property listing is done mainly by the Register of Deeds personnel (3 full time and a half time). The tax mapping and handling of split parcels is done by a mapping technician. About the City/ County: Waushara County, "Where Up North Begins" is very much a year-round tourist area as we offer hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trails. We have very good down-hill skiing at Nordic Mountain and lakes to numerous to count for all your boating, swimming and fishing needs. Agriculture is also an important part of life in Waushara County as we have many vegetable, Christmas tree, and dairy farms. Wautoma, with a population of 2100 is the County seat. We also include a part of the City of Berlin, and all of the Villages Redgranite, Wild Rose, Coloma, Hancock, Plainfield and Lohrville.
