About Me: I have worked for Sauk County for over a quarter of a century! I started February, 1980 in the Planning & Zoning Office. After 5 1/2 years there, & having been shared at times with the Treasurer's Office, I transferred to the Treasurer/Real Property Listing Office in October, 1985. I have been here ever since, & still find it to be fun & a challenge.

My husband, Jack, & I were married in the mountains of Montana in 1977. We have 2 sons, Michael (1982) and Peter (1984). I am happiest when I am playing volleyball, golf, or cards, or kayaking. I also enjoy reading, walking, and visiting elderly friends.

About the Office: Sauk County has a combined Treasurer & Real Property Listing Office, and we keep the records for all 39 municipalities in the county. Patricia Carignan was elected County Treasurer in 2004, and her position also includes the Real Property Lister title. There are five other employees in the office. Although we share many duties & help each other out a lot, we also have areas we specialize in. I am the Manager of the Real Property Listing functions, and there are two other Real Property Listing Specialists: Lorraine Casson & Rene Ramsey. Both have worked here for several years, & both worked at a title company for many years prior, so they are great assets. Our County Treasurer, Patricia Carignan, has been a county employee for 30 years, and has worked in this office for 13 years, so we are very fortunate to have a new treasurer that is so well qualified. There are two accounting assistants, Lore Lange & Liz Geohagen. Both are fairly new to our office, but have learned quickly & have good backgrounds, so it is working out well. Our office has always prided itself on it's helpfulness, friendliness, & cooperation. We all work together very well and enjoy each other.

As far as uniqueness, we certainly qualify! Included in our monthly routine is "Hat Day", the first Wednesday of every month. The public has come to enjoy & expect that we each wear one of the 50+ hats in our collection. Also, Halloween is when we shine! Check us out. On a more serious note, we have had a wonderful mapping department working with us for 25 years. We have the entire county mapped electronically & will soon have on our website a great GIS system available. We currently have our tax & assessment information online, & it is used extensively. The many offices that comprise the Land Information committee have a history of working well together and we have benefited from several years of significant income from recording fees, using the money to improve our land records system.

About the City/ County: Sauk County includes 39 municipalities: 22 towns, 14 villages & 3 cities. It is located in South Central Wisconsin, and has many beautiful natural features, including the Baraboo Bluffs, 5 state parks, and part of the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway. Sauk County has a strong agricultural community, a good manufacturing base, and a thriving tourism industry, including the Wisconsin Dells area. In addition, the International Crane Foundation is headquartered here, and the 2-year UW-Sauk County/Baraboo campus is located in Baraboo.
