About the Office: The Real Property Description Department is responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate ownership and description information on parcels of real property in the county for the use of taxation district assessors, city, village and town clerks and treasurers and county offices and any other persons requiring that information. These services are provided to all municipalities in Rock County except for the City of Beloit and the City of Janesville. The Real Property Description Department is located in the Rock County Courthouse, 51 S. Main St., Room 108, Janesville, Wisconsin 53545. The regular office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday except legal holidays. The Real Property Lister, Michelle Schultz, is the legal custodian of records maintained by the Real Property Description Department. Public records are available for inspection at the Real Property Description Department during regular office hours. There is no cost to view the records. No original record may be removed from the Real Property Description Department. Copies of public records may be obtained upon request. The records available and the associated cost are listed below.
