About the Office: The office of Real Property Listing is divided and totally integrated into the office of Treasurer and Register of Deeds. The Treasurer serves as the coordinator between the county and the taxation districts for assessment and taxation purposes and as the designee to procure the various required assessment and tax forms. The Treasurer’s office provides computer services related to assessment and taxation for the assessors, clerks and treasurers of the taxation districts. Personnel time allocated for the Real Property Lister’s function is equal to one full-time and one part-time person. The Register of Deeds office maintains all the property maps and all legal descriptions for all property in the county. The Register of Deeds staff for property description includes the Register of Deeds as ½ position and a half-time Assistant Real Property Lister. No statistics are available for the average number of transfers and we added 507 new parcels in 2007.
