About Me: Linda has been employed by Marinette County in Property Listing since 1979. In February of 2003, she was appointed to the position of Real Property Lister, with her immediate supervisor being the Land Information Director.

About the Office: In 2003, Property Listing became a division of the Land Information Department. We were merged with three other departments, Land and Water Conservation, Surveyor, and Zoning and Solid Waste. All four divisions were moved into one central location on the first floor of the Courthouse in the spring of 2004. Linda manages a staff consisting of 2 Mapping Specialist, Russell Mattice and Tina Carvenough, and a Description Specialist, Debra Weiland.

The Property Listing Division is responsible for all duties described under Chapter 70.09. Additional duties include the production of the tax rolls and bills, production and maintenance of digital parcel maps, and approving all new road names and verifying existing road names within the County. As the County's designee for DOR mailings, we handle all assessment and tax supplies for assessors, clerks and treasurers. We print all of our own reports, including the assessment and tax rolls, statements, labels, posting sheets, and notices of assessment. While we electronically file the Statement of Assessment for all 25 municipalities, we manually enter assessment changes for eight of those districts. Our assessment/taxation system resides on the AS/400. We have in-house programs and currently utilize AutoCAD 2005 and Arcview 9.1 for mapping and GIS. We have the ability to run various query reports for municipalities, private sector and the general public. For assessment year 2005, 272 parcels were split into 848 parcels, 152 parcels were merged into 66 parcels while 393 parcels were transferred, and 3150 parcels were revised. As of June 2005, we have approximately 50,000 parcels digitally mapped. The remaining parcels should be mapped by the end of August 2005, however the quality control work will continue on for sometime. A goal of the Land Information Dept. is to go online sometime in 2006.

Besides Shoreland Zoning, Marinette County has a Land Division and Subdivision Regulation Ordinance, and a Road Naming Ordinance. Several municipalities also have their own platting
