About Me: Started working for Jefferson County in 1976 as a draftsperson. Was appointed department head in 1982. Served in various capacities in WRPLA and WLIA. My hobbies include gardening, hunting, fishing, softball and weight lifting. Married 29 years with two grown children and a 3 year old chocolate Labrador retriever.

About the Office: The Jefferson County Land Information Office is responsible for Property Listing, Land Information Program (Geographic Information System GIS) and Rural Address System. The staff includes a Director, Cartographer, Administrative Clerk and half time Land Information Assistant.

Property ownership, assessments, taxes and other related information are available to the public by phone, public workstation located in the courthouse and internet. The Internet access to property information website is: http://lrs.co.jefferson.wi.us

Parcel identification numbers are based on the state recommended numbering scheme (municipality code, township, range, section, quarter/quarter, suffix id). The ownership information reflects owners of record in the Register of Deeds Office. Property ownership and related data is maintained on an iSeries Midrange Server. Property listing records are maintained for all municipalities in the Jefferson County. The City of Watertown update their assessment roll ownership and transfers that information county system.

The Land Information Office administrates the County Geographic Information System. Geographic layers maintained on the system include: property ownership, zoning, public land survey, ortho photography, land use inventories, environmental corridors, conservation planning, DNR wetland inventory, floodplains, municipal boundaries, voting districts, fire and emergency medical response districts, school districts, park and open space plans and others. These digital map files and paper plots are available to the public according to a fee schedule adopted by the County Board of Supervisors.

The Land Information Office administrates the Jefferson County Uniform Numbering Ordinance. Addresses are assigned for all new residents and businesses built in the unincorporated areas of Jefferson County. Official rural address maps are maintained for each town.
