Wisconsin Real Property Listers Association
Shawano County - DISTRICT #2
Property
Listing is located in the Planning & Development Department.
This is one of four divisions within the entire department.
There are two full time positions as of January 2000.
All of the mapping is computerized and maintained within this
office using a software called Parcelmapper, which works in the
ArcInfo environment. We
also have aerial photography on our GIS system along with soils,
wetlands, floodplain, some landuse and some zoning.
Currently the old hard copy maps and the new computerized maps
are being maintained. The
911 address numbers are assigned and maintained in this office.
As of April 2000, the 911 Maps had been kept in AutoCad, but a project being
done at this time which will be adding them as a layer to our already
created GIS system along with driveway and building points. This will allow us to begin the process of optimal
routing in the near future. We
run all workrolls for Assessors, Assessment Rolls for Board of
Reviews, Assessment Change Notices, Tax Bills, Tax Rolls and Special
Assessment Reports. We
have the capability to download and upload information to some
assessors who are computerized. We
have the state transfer of the Statement of Assessment by e-mail
working. Also done is
mailing labels and printouts for municipalities, agencies and the
general public. We have a
large copy machine, which allows us to make blueprint size copies for
the public. Shawano
County is 892.6 square miles in size.
It consists of 25 townships, 11 villages and two citieis.
We have an approximate parcel count of 40,000.
We work with three Indian Tribes, of which one tribe has their
Reservation totally within Shawano County borders. We
use the software from Mauel and Associated to do all work on property
descriptions and tax information.
Shawano County also has optical imaging in place within the
Register of Deeds Office, so all deeds can be brought up at the
desktops along with the Certified Surveys.
In the Planning Department, we have two public access terminals
running GEOPass and one also runs a public access software from Geo
Analytics. There are public access terminals in the Treasurers Office as
well as the Register of Deeds Office.
