About the office: The office of Real Property Lister is located within the Land Records Department. Staff includes:

Responsibilities include all duties of Chapter 70.09 and we provide maps and land information to other Departments and the public. The Zoning Administration is notified for splits without CSM's. The County Surveyor's office is located within the Land Records Department but is a separate Department with staff. We also manage the 911 Property Address System

About  county: Sawyer County is located in the Northern Highland province of northwestern Wisconsin. There are 21 municipalities: 16 townships, four villages, and one city with a County 2007 population of 17,542.Sawyer County's land use is rural residential/recreational/forestry with an area of 1,350 square miles or 864,287 acres. The total surface water area is 58,359 acres or 6.8 percent of the total area. Over 36 percent of the county is in public ownership. All of Sawyer County was hardcopy index parcel mapped by 1987. We began our digital parcel mapping in 2000. Out of the 38 civil townships, 18 are digitally mapped. In 1883 Sawyer County was formed from parts of Ashland and Chippewa Counties with Hayward as its county seat.
