About Jackie:
About your office: The Polk County Property Listing Department is made up of me, myself and I and is located within the County Treasurer’s Office and under it’s supervision. The treasurer’s office has three full time employees consisting of the Treasurer, one deputy and myself. The office is strategically located between the Land Information Office/Zoning and the Register of Deeds. For the most part this works well, as my time seems split by the use of the other departments. As the Lister, I handle approximately 4000 transfers per year. In 2001 we put on 342 CSM’s, 15 plats and countless splits. The last count, we had over 41,500 parcels, made up of 36 municipalities (24 townships and 12 city/villages).
Currently all of our mapping is being done in the Land Information Office by it’s staff of one full time mapper and one GIS specialist. The software is ESRI Arc GIS and Autocad. They are primarily working on the parcel maps for the county as well as creating GIS.
About your county: Polk County has had contined growth over the past 5 years. 2004, there were over 4,200 transfer's; 378 CSM's; and 20 plats creating 1,567 new parcels. Polk County has 36 municipalites (24 townships, 10 villages and 2 cities).

Polk County is located an hour and a half from Minneapolis/St. Paul and Lake Superior on the Upper St. Croix River of Northwest Wisconsin. It is 917 square miles of rivers and streams, 200+ lakes, miles of public trails and rolling family farms. Many of Polk County's reisdents commute to the Twin Cities for their employment, while 90% of the lake properties are second homes for neighboring Minnesotans. Polk County has seen tremendous increase in growth due to our close proximity to a major metropolitan area, and our great availability of land for recreation and development.
