| About
the office: We have GCS software. Parcel and tax
information has been on the county website nearly 2 years
and phone calls to our office have decreased tremendously. I
work closely with Department of Land Management whose
services includes county planning, zoning, uniform
addresses, GIS and the surveyor. I'm linked to the Register
of Deeds imaging system and to the county GIS. My duties
include maintaining, updating, printing and distributing
real estate and personal property assessment rolls, notice
of assessments, tax rolls, tax statements, all related
reports, address changes, assigning GIS pin numbers, lottery
credit letters, entering special assessments and special
charges on the tax roll, and supplying information for
assessors, clerks, treasurers, and public regarding parcels,
assessments and the tax process. Daily I make copies of
documents recorded in Register of Deeds, including CSM's and
plats and obtain addresses from the property transfer forms.
I also order assessment, tax and assessor supplies. I assist
the local treasurers with their GCS tax collection program.
I'm in the treasurers office and help with July tax
collections. |

Pierce County includes 17 townships, 5 villages and 2
cities. 2004 saw the greatest increase in activity with 2535
transfers, 122 CSM's with 183 lots, 19 plats with 314 lots
and a total of 1083 parcel changes for 2005 workrolls. Our
WPA maps have been digitized and of those, six townships
have been updated using COGO methods. Remonumentation and
updating maps is dependent upon grant monies. |
