| About
Karen:
Karen Makoutz was the Deputy County Clerk from 1984 until
her first election in 1992 when she won the November
election and became County Treasurer in January 1993. Karen
has served as the President of Wisconsin County Treasurer’s
Association in 2001-2002 and currently serves on the
Education Committee and the Dept. of Revenue’s Work Group.
At this time she is the President of the Wisconsin
Association of Constitutional Officers. In 1995 Karen was
appointed by Leroy Bley, Chairman of the Ozaukee County
Board to the Southeast Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park
District Board (SEWPBPDB) to build Miller Park. She is the
Treasurer of the SEWPBPDB and serves as Vice Chairperson of
the Finance Committee. About
Ron: Ron was
elected to this office in January 1985. He has served as
Treasurer of the
Wisconsin Register of Deeds Association from 1989 -
1999, was also the Secretary/Treasurer for the
Wisconsin Land Information Association from 1994-1999
and served on the Board of Directors from 1990-1991. Past
Alderman (1996-2000) for the
City of Port Washington. Past President of
Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Wisconsin Real Property Listers Association & is Web
Author for all of the above Associations and for
Ozaukee County. His office also includes Land Information. He has also performed in Port Summer

the office: The office of Real Property Listing is divided
and totally integrated into the office of Treasurer and Register of
Deeds. The Treasurer
serves as the coordinator between the county and the taxation
districts for assessment and taxation purposes and as the designee to
procure the various required assessment and tax forms.
The
Treasurers
office provides computer services related to assessment and
taxation for the assessors, clerks and treasurers of the taxation
districts. Personnel time
allocated for the Real Property Listers function is equal to one
full-time and one part-time person.
The
Register of
Deeds office maintains all the property maps and all legal
descriptions for all property in the county.
The Register of Deeds staff for property description includes
the Register of Deeds as ½ position and a half-time Assistant Real
Property Lister. No
statistics are available for the average number of transfers and
we added 507 new parcels in 2007.
