About the office: The Real Property Lister is responsible for the maintenance of legal property descriptions and related information for the purpose of assessment and tax rolls as defined in WI Stats Section 70.09 (Real Property Lister). Duties also includes assisting with the administration of the County’s zoning, land division, and sanitary ordinances including conducting inspections of sites and issuing appropriate permits. The Real Property Lister assists the County Surveyor in reviewing certified survey maps and new subdivisions and with remapping of section and quarter section maps.

About  county: Langlade County covers 871 square miles equaling 557,000 acres of land and water, has 24 1/3 survey townships, one village and one city. Parcel county for the County is 30,521 which involves about 2,500 changes per year.
The Land Records Technician (LRT) currently mapping two townships in AutoCad for conversion to our GIS by the end of 2002. The County Surveyor is supplying the LRT with accurate GPS corners which is making the parcel mapping a much smoother process. Rivers and lake locations are digitized from aerials and road locations were obtained by using a GPS unit. Other coverages were obtained from the DNR and adjusted to Langlade County Coordinates by North Central Regional Planning.
