About Donna: I have worked for Green Lake County for almost 28 years. My husband (recently retired from the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office) and I have been married for 22 years. We live in Berlin (the largest city in the county) and have 1 dog and 5 cats. I like to read and enjoy several crafts (knitting, crocheting and appliqued items). When I retire (in about 3½ years) I hope to do volunteer work or maybe work part time in a mindless job.
About the office: The Real Property Lister is a part of the County Treasurer’s Office. Governing committee is the Administrative Committee.
The average number of transfers is 1,367 and the average number of parcels affected by splits is 376.
The office is responsible for keeping parcel maps updated via Certified Survey Maps, condominium plats, subdivision plats, county plats, deed splits and annexations. This is done manually by the Real Property Lister. Other duties include policing deeds and surveys for non-conforming parcels, updating parcel ownership and addresses, parcel addresses, updating all assessment data, entering mill rates and related tax information and generating rolls and reports. The Real Property Lister is also responsible for obtaining all new 911/fire numbers. The Real Property Lister is also a member of the Land Information Committee.
At present, we have fifteen of our sixteen municipalities manually mapped. Eventually we will be mapping in-house and will be using ArcInfo, ArcView and COGO.
About Green Lake county: Our county is comprised of ten towns, two villages and four cities and is a mix of urban and rural. Many of our property owners are part-time residents who have homes on our nine lakes and several rivers. Big Green Lake is the deepest lake in Wisconsin.
