Since April 1987, the Real Property Lister became an independent office, with the Real Property Lister as the only staff position.  Randy has been employed in said position since 1976.  Duties include entering all real estate changes, checking deeds office for accuracy of description if necessary, working with the IM-REM process for tax deeding and doing some appraisals for the county.

The average number of transfers per year are 10,000 and the average number of splits per year is 1,200 – 1,500.

Dunn County is approximately 50% urban and 50% rural.  Dunn County covers 858 square miles and consists of 22 townships, seven villages and one city.  The population is approximately 39,000.  The valuation of property is 1.4 billion and the parcel count is 35,000.

Dunn County is all on computer since 1985-86 and they utilize the Hewlett Packard 3000.  Software currently being used is Arc and AutoCad.  Mapping is contracted out.  The anticipated time line for completion of the plat book of tax parcels is one year.
