About
Roxy :
I began working for Burnett County on July 1 1974 in Human
Services. Eleven years later I transferred to the
Treasurer's Office and from there I became the Real Property
Lister in 1988.
I have training in home health care, personal care, finance
and home budgeting, child care and nutrition. I am a
graduate of the Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program through
UW-Extension. I have served as Past President, Secretary,
and District Vice President of the WRPLA. I have also served
for 7 years (maximum) on the Board of the WLIA, which
included being Legislative Chair and President. I enjoy the
outdoors and oil painting, I would love to be in politics
when I grow up.

About Burnett county:
Burnett County is located in the Indianhead Region of
Western Wisconsin. At its widest points it extends 36 mi.
North to South and 42 mi East to West. Approximately 64% of
the county is forested and we have the 9th largest county
forest in the state. Burnett County's terrain is gently
hilled and lies 760 feet above sea level in the SW to
approximately 1500 feet above sea level in the SE. We have 3
Villages; the largest being Grantsburg with a population of
1400 (2004). The County's first stop light was installed in
the Village of Siren in 2000.
With 508 named lakes, (and many more un-named) Burnett
County's focus has turned more toward tourism than farming.
Burnett can boast of their pristine lakes and waterways,
nature preserves, bike trails and State, County and
Historical Parks.
The St. Croix Band of Chippewa Indians, whose lands in this
county comprise 5 of the 7 band's communities operate
Burnett County's only casino in Danbury. |
